NATIONAL APPRENTICESHIP WEEK 2019
In celebration of the fact that this week is National Apprenticeship Week I thought I would look back over some recent photography shoots that I have been commissioned for which have helped to promote apprentices and the apprenticeship scheme. This annual celebration of apprenticeships brings the whole apprenticeship community together to celebrate the impact of apprenticeships on individuals, employers and the economy.
National Apprenticeship Week is coordinated by the National Apprenticeship Service and is designed to celebrate apprenticeships and the positive impact they have on individuals, businesses and the wider economy.
Over the past year I had the pleasure in producing work for two apprentice focused companies, namely Syngenta in Huddersfield and YH Training who have their HQ in Scarborough but also have offices in Huddersfield, Hull, Doncaster, Leeds and York.
Working for YH Training came about when I was contacted by Sarah Holbrook at workinginsync who was engaged in marketing the YH Group. Sarah contacted me to arrange photoshoots of apprentices in action throughout YH's area.
YH are a family run business that cares about its learners and employers. They are a leading training provider with over 30 years’ experience of delivering high quality vocational training and workforce development solutions for local people and businesses. They help local businesses train and nurture their apprentice work force and have over a 1000 learners placed on programmes with over 650 employers at any one time.
Its was my job to produce photographs that promoted the benefits of both recruiting an apprentice and becoming an apprentice. This involved traveling around the YH area capturing apprentices in action. YH provide training programmes in practically any sector of business so the photoshoots included a whole host of job roles from office based clerical roles, manufacturing, advertising, health care, customer service, sales and even military preparation training.
Following the shoots which took several days to complete the images where then used for various marketing materials which included a brand new website, banners for display at exhibitions and leaflets.
Personally I think the project was a huge success with the pictures provided helping to promote the marketing of YH and its services both to would be apprentices and employers alike.
Syngenta Huddersfield have used my services for a couple of years now in order to promote their workplace apprenticeship scheme.
Established in 1916, Huddersfield Manufacturing Centre employs up to 400 skilled people, dedicated to professional manufacturing of important crop protection products that help growers meet an ever increasing demand for food, feed and fuel. Their talented and dedicated workforce make this possible. Manufacturing excellence, safety and skilled people are at the heart of the site's ambition and they are committed to their award winning Advanced Apprenticeship programme.
An apprenticeship with Syngenta in Huddersfield can lead to a rewarding career in a STEM discipline: Science, Technology, Engineering or Manufacturing. Many of Syngenta's apprentices have been successful in winning many local and national awards and must be one of the largest recruiters of apprentices, certainly locally if not nationally. As you can see by the group header picture which shows last years intake of apprentices.
Now is your chance to join as an apprentice with one of the countries top 100 employers but time is running out............. see the link below before its too late!
